Improving the Habitat of the Pomperaug River
One of our dedicated volunteers created this video, which brings the Bent of the River's instream work on the Pomperaug River to life.
In Fall 2014, Nonewaug High School student and dedicated volunteer of the Bent of the River, Maureen McCarthy, began studying the effects of large woody debris on the Pomperaug River system and made a short documentary film on the Audubon's already existing large woody debris study. This video explains the large woody debris installation project at the Audubon, what large woody debris is, and how it affects the Pomperaug River.
