The health of our visitors, supporters, and staff is of utmost importance. To help protect the Bent of the River Audubon Center community from COVID-19, we are following recommendations made by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as well as state and local governments.

Until further notice, please note the following:

  • INDOORS - MASKS and SOCIAL DISTANCING are required for all individuals in indoor locations at our center
  • OUTDOORS – Only non-COVID-vaccinated individuals must wear a mask OR practice social distancing when in proximity to others not in their personal group/cohort
  • Our SANCTUARY TRAILS and BIRD OBSERVATION BALCONY at the Barn are OPEN daily from sunrise to sunset
  • Our CENTER BUILDING(S) and facilities (including restrooms) are CLOSED
  • We are offering EVENTS AND PROGRAMS at limited capacity—please visit our events web page and Facebook page for the latest information

During these challenging times, our center has lost critical funding, staff positions, and programs, but we continue to forge ahead to connect people with nature and sustain the local conservation work that birds, other wildlife, and people in our community depend upon. If you wish to help to support the center, please click here to make a contribution.

Thank you for your shared dedication to protecting birds, other wildlife, and the habitats they depend on!

GIVE LOCAL 2021: Thank you to our supporters for caring about birds, their habitats, and Bent of the River Audubon Center! Because of your generosity on April 20 and 21, 2021, we raised $21,615 through Connecticut Community Foundation's Give Local event. Thank you also to CCF and the many event sponsors for supporting this amazing local giving opportunity. This is much-needed support as birds and people continue to flock to our center amid the loss of funding sources and staff positions due to the COVID-19 crisis. We cannot thank our community enough!
