Center Closed, Trails Remain Open

The health of our visitors, supporters, and staff is of utmost importance to the Bent of the River Audubon Center. In an effort to help protect our community, we are following recommendations made by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as well as state and local governments and the center building is closed until further notice.

Our trails are open with appropriate measures to protect the health of our visitors. If you plan to visit, you are welcome to explore outside, but we will not have restrooms or accommodations available. Select here for the latest trail closures due to storm damage.

We are continuing to fulfill our mission of connecting people to nature through online engagement. For the latest information on events and offerings, please visit our events web page and Facebook page.

Contributions to help support the center during your visit may be made online via this link or in a donation box outside the center building at the start of the trails.

For more information, please read our Center Director's official letter to our community here.

Bent of the River Audubon Center is a 700-acre nature sanctuary and education center located in Southbury, Connecticut. It is part of Audubon Connecticut (a state office of the National Audubon Society) and the Atlantic Flyway, and is dedicated to Audubon's open space and working lands conservation efforts in Connecticut.

Visitors are welcome to enjoy trails, nature programs, and conservation-themed events throughout the year. Come learn and explore with us!
