Take part in the nation's longest-running community science bird project—the Christmas Bird Count (CBC). This free, annual event helps fuel Audubon science and conservation throughout the year by providing insightful bird data. Join Audubon for the Woodbury-Roxbury Christmas Bird Count, co-sponsored by the Western Connecticut Bird Club.
This CBC area includes: Woodbury, Roxbury, Bridgewater, Sandy Hook, most of Southbury, western Middlebury, southern Bethlehem, southern Washington, eastern New Milford, and eastern Brookfield.
Adults of all birding experience levels are welcome to participate. However, there is a specific methodology to the CBC, and all participants must make arrangements to participate in advance with the circle compiler within an established circle.
Please contact the Woodbury-Roxbury CBC compiler Ken Elkins at Kenneth.Elkins@audubon.org or 203-405-9113 for more information on how to conduct a feeder watch or connect with other birders on the count day.
A compilation dinner will be held at Leo's in Southbury (Bennett Square, Main Street South/7 Poverty Road, Southbury, CT) at 5:30 p.m.
